New Head of the OMV press office

As of February 1, 2018, Andreas Rinofner (52) will take over as Head of the press office of the OMV Group. He will succeed Robert Lechner, who is leaving OMV for a post in another company.

Andreas Rinofner studied Philosophy and German in Graz. He started his career as a research assistant in political philosophy, after which he immediately moved into the communication sector. Responsible for PR for the Styrian Red Cross, he gained valuable experience in the non-profit sector and in disaster and crisis management. From 2001 to 2006 Andreas Rinofner had a management-level position in communication and marketing at ÖBB. After two years working for an agency, he joined the OMV communications team in 2008 and was responsible for advertising, sponsoring, online and internal communication. In 2012 he became Head of Purchasing for the OMV subsidiary Gas Connect Austria.

Alongside classic press work, the OMV Public Relations Team covers the area of social media. Andreas Rinofner will also take on the role of press spokesman. Under his leadership, press spokespersons Brigitte Köck and Elena Menasse will continue to be available to journalists for any enquiries related to the company.
