OMV Sustainability Report 2016 published

On May 22, 2017, OMV published its 12th Sustainability Report. It describes how OMV performed in 2016 on the most important environmental, social and economic aspects and how OMV managed to drive its sustainability agenda forward.

The OMV Sustainability Report also serves as Communication on Progress on the implementation of the UN Global Compact´s ten principles and gives details on how OMV supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals through the dedicated series of Sustainability KPIs and OMV´s day-to-day business.

OMV aims to provide energy for a better life. Being a responsible business is crucial to remain competitive and successful in the long term. Therefore OMV focuses on creating win-win situations and is strongly committed to produce energy responsibly and sustainably to improve people’s quality of life.

The report includes examples of OMV’s activities and projects in the area of climate change, innovative energy and social impact.

OMV is producing and marketing oil & gas, innovative energy and high-end petrochemical solutions – in a responsible way. With Group sales of EUR 19 bn and a workforce of around 22,500 employees in 2016, OMV Aktiengesellschaft is one of Austria’s largest listed industrial companies. In Upstream, OMV has a strong base in Romania and Austria and a balanced international portfolio. 2016 daily production stood at approximately 311,000 boe/d. In Downstream, OMV has an annual refining capacity of 17.8 mn tonnes and approximately 3,800 filling stations in 11 countries (including Turkey) as of end of 2016. OMV operates a gas pipeline network in Austria and gas storage facilities in Austria and Germany. In 2016, gas sales volumes amounted to 109 TWh.
